A quick note on Atlantic City. I mean a quick note on Revel.
a verb: enjoy oneself in a lively and noisy way, especially with drinking and dancing.
Also, The best place on Earth.
I’ve been to AC once in my life. It was for a bachelorette trip, and we stayed at Revel in 2012. We actually never left the resort. (Well I did walk down to the water for about 5 min. while I was on a call.) This was more of a “what happens at Revel, stays at Revel” trip.
This place, still to this day, remains the best place on Earth… even though it is shut down.
We took a road trip from Pittsburgh to AC. We arrived, thinking we would be going to different hotels on the strip, walking to the water and boardwalk, but we parked the car and didn’t leave.
We did luck out since one of the girls with us was in promotions planning and had contacts at the hotel. The rooms were gorgeous, and an odd word to call a hotel room, but they were sexy.
There were 2 night-clubs, we ended up going to both. Talk about house music and fist-pumping with a mini skirt on.
There were +10 restaurants. Surprisingly, the best food I remember was from a food truck (within the resort) that had tacos.
There were floors for gambling, and every type of person you could imagine playing games and slots.
There were multiple swimming pools, 2 were party atmospheres with DJs, adult games, and drinks served. This is where we spent most of our time as a bachelorette group.
If you just Google “Revel Atlantic City”, you will be able to read a collection of articles about this resort. It is truly fascinating of the building and falling (bankruptcy) of a Casino. For something that was so grand, lavish, over the top.. to fail is really based on poor management and money issues. This one from The Press of Atlantic City is a quick read with timeline bullets.
There is also a 5-minute video on the Revel from The New Yorker if you are subscribed.
I do not have any pictures from this trip but recommend to google what the inside looked like.
I hope to go back to Atlantic City for another quick trip to see what it truly has to offer.
